Frye show a powerful lens for socially engaged art
Two new exhibits at Frye Art Museum reflect the methods behind making socially engaged art across generations: one a retrospective of Curtis R. Barnes’ work, the other a show of works by Maikoiyo Alley-Barnes, Nicholas Galanin and Nep Sidhu.
Wednesday, June 25, 2014 - Contemporary Alaska Native Art Art forms in Native communities across Alaska are influenced by culture, tradition, geography and contact with people who arrived from Europe and Russia.
